Public Service Announcement
Date: August 12, 2026
From: Martha McInnes, Director, North Central Public Health District
Contact: Mikey Goyette, Communications Coordinator, NCPHD
North Central Public Health District and Project Happy Face are hosting free skin cancer screenings and dermatology appointments tomorrow, August 13, 2026, from 1 pm to 5 pm. You must register in advance. Appointments are open to everyone.
Why skin cancer screenings matter:
1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70.
Having 5 or more sunburns doubles your risk for melanoma.
More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all the other cancers combined.
For more information, or to book an appointment, go to projecthappyface.org or call NCPHD at (541) 506-2600. More dates may be offered soon, so please follow along for updates.
